I have been in Cape Town in the last days. The big purpose of this trip was to fit taking my family visiting from Lima and a very special occasion: my son Jacob’s fifth birthday.

So it was all about the main attractions in the city and the ocean. Coming from a coast city I must confess that I miss the beach (A LOT)  and my two boys, even if they only spent a very short time of their young life, they miss it too!

We spent a full day at the Waterfront and chose the Granf Life Cafè  to have lunch. We were attracted for its location and Interior Design. Food was very good but I mainly focus on the space and quickly took some pictures to write this post.

I found it very light and elegant and inspired me dreaming in a beach/ocean side  house. So I found some ideas for you:

  1. Use black and white zig zag + natural woven cane/rope + velvet! (velvet is super trendy at the moment) / Usa zig zags en negro y blanco + tejidos naturales/soga + terciopelo (muy trendy en estos momentos)

    2. Instead of using blue with white, use it with green shades! paint walls, wood doors and use marble floors for luxury looks! Do not forget the bronze details…

3. A fire place is always a good idea! Surround it with pieces casually upholstered in pure linen… keep some finishes rough!

Add soft touches using a different fabric on the back of the chairs or couches! This is what I call “a sexy back”… (and check how I did the same in this project) Agrega detalles sutiles utilizando una tela diferente para el respaldar de sillas o sofás!

4. Create a decor and art shelving wall using the door on a hallway!
5. If you have the space, add magnificent huge vases filled with wild exotic flowers!

6. For your dining room… well, this is my favourite space in the restaurant! Love the velvet capitonê, the couches sexy backs, the leather chairs, the colour palette, the curtains, the old dark side display cupboard, the lamps and decor styling accessories… what do you think?

Isn’t it gorgeous? If one day you have the chance to go to Cape Town, you will never be same!
